Jason & Dana || A Joyful La Roche Estate Wedding in Franschhoek

Jason and Dana brought their South African and Australian worlds together for an unforgettable La Roche Estate wedding in Franschhoek. Their day was filled with honest emotion, joyful energy, and the kind of moments that happen when a couple feels completely free to be themselves.

Jason & Dana | A Joyful La Roche Estate Wedding in Franschhoek

Jason and Dana’s La Roche Estate wedding in Franschhoek was everything a celebration should be: warm, honest, joyful and completely true to who they are.

Their celebration brought their South African and Australian worlds together in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Planned beautifully by The Event Planners, it was a gathering filled with people who had travelled, arrived with full hearts and were ready to celebrate these two pure hearted souls properly.

A wedding that felt like Jason and Dana

The more you allow yourself to be who you are on your wedding day, the more authentic your photographs become. More importantly, the memories become entirely your own.

They are not borrowed from a trend. They are not performed for anyone else. They are real reflections of your relationship, your people and the way the day actually felt.

That honesty was present throughout Jason and Dana’s wedding. Nothing needed to be forced. The emotion was already there. The laughter arrived freely, the hugs lasted a little longer and every person seemed fully present in the celebration. They even played a game of cricket during canapés - what a vibe!

My role was simply to pay attention, stay close to the heart of it all and preserve those moments honestly.

Wedding photography at La Roche Estate

Surrounded by vineyards and the mountains of the Franschhoek Valley, La Roche Estate created a magnificent setting for the day.

The estate’s architecture and natural surroundings offered endless opportunities for artistic and timeless wedding portraits. But the real beauty came from what happened within those spaces: friends reconnecting, families embracing, glasses being raised, and a dance floor filled with absolute joy.

I will always make space for beautiful and intentional portraits, but I never want the photographs to pull a couple away from their own wedding. The celebration comes first. The photographs should grow naturally from it.

Jason and Dana understood this completely. They trusted the day, trusted their people, and gave themselves the freedom to enjoy every moment.

Real memories matter most

You do not need to turn your wedding into a show for it to be extraordinary.

The beautiful details matter, and this incredible team created so much magic for Jason and Dana, but the heart of a wedding will always be the people. They are the ones who make the atmosphere, bring the emotion, and transform a beautiful venue into a place filled with meaning.

Every time I am invited to photograph a wedding, it is a genuine privilege. I get to witness families coming together, friendships being celebrated and two people choosing one another in front of everyone who matters most to them.

Jason and Dana, thank you for being completely yourselves and for trusting me with these memories.

All my love,
Skillie at Kikitography
